Better Together
By Christina Quick | March 11, 2008
“Mom,” my 9-year-old daughter said one day as she wrapped her arms around my waist and buried her face in my ribs. “On our own, we’re both amazing women. But together, we’re even better.”
How right she is. Being a mom enriches my life in countless ways. The laughs, cuddles, dandelion bouquets and bubble-gum-scented kisses enlarge my heart. The deep questions and profound insights of my children’s growing minds broaden my own. Entering their world sends my imagination soaring. And loving them reminds me of God’s love for me.
No doubt about it, we’re just better together. God knew what He was doing when He created families.

Likewise, two are better than one. Like many already said: no one learns how to be a parent, nevertheless, if we have a learning heart, we can become great parents. I’m not a parent, but I imagine and dream, and I know that “God knew what He was doing when He created families.”
